2021 Ram 2500 Trim Levels

The Ram 2500 is America’s longest-lasting heavy-duty pickup according to IIHS Markit Data from 1988-2020.  Any current owner knows this – the Ram 2500 Heavy Duty is built to work. With 2 available engine options, 6 available trim levels and endless cab, box and axle ratio configurations; the 2021 Ram 2500 can be customized to meet your exact specifications. In this article, we will explore the “2021 Ram 2500 trim levels.”

2021 Ram 2500 Tradesman

First up is the Ram 2500 Tradesman. The Tradesman, as it’s appropriately named, is built to work. The 2021 Ram 2500 Tradesman comes standard with the 6.4L V8 Heavy Duty HEMI MDS Engine which delivers up to 410 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque. Owners can upgrade to the 6.7L Cummins Turbo Diesel I6 engine which puts out 370 horsepower and 850 lb-ft of torque. The “no-frills” work truck comes standard with Heavy-Duty Vinyl seating, manual adjustable front seats and the Uconnect 3 with 5” touchscreen display. While you can upgrade to the Uconnect 4 with 8.4” touchscreen, there are many premium features not available on this trim level. If you are looking for a highly capable work truck, the 2021 Ram 2500 Tradesman is for you.

2021 Ram 2500 Big Horn

Next up is the 2021 Ram 2500 Big Horn. Like the Tradesman, you can opt for the V8 Hemi or Cummins Turbo Diesel engine. Cloth bucket front seating comes standard on the Big Horn and customers can upgrade to power seating. Some other premium upgrades available on the Big Horn include 18” Polished Aluminum Wheels, Premium 7-Speaker Sound System, and Heated Front Seats. The Big Horn comes standard with the Uconnect 3 with 5” touchscreen and can be upgraded to the Uconnect 4 with 8.4” touchscreen. While the Tradesman is technically the “base” trim level, you could argue the Big Horn could also be considered the “base” trim for those planning to use it as a daily driver. The Big Horn is the perfect truck for those seeking a comfortable, capable ride at a budget-friendly price point.

2021 Ram 2500 Laramie

Next up is the first premium trim level, the 2021 Ram 2500 Laramie. Like the previous trim levels, the Laramie gets the 6.4L V8 Hemi as the standard engine and can be upgraded to the Cummins Turbo Diesel. Exterior upgrades included a more prominent front grille, 18” or 20” Polished Aluminum Wheels, and Body-Color Fender Flares. More noticeably, the interior gets a major upgrade with standard features including leather-trimmed power seating, heated seats, and the 8.4” Uconnect Touchscreen. The Laramie can also be upgraded to the Uconnect 12” Touchscreen with Navigation. The Laramie trim level comes standard with many premium features and also offers the option to upgrade to many more – like the power sunroof.

Other premium off-road features include manual or electric Shift-On-The-Fly Transfer Cases, Skid Plates and Performance Tuned Shock Absorbers. The Power Wagon boasts a bold design featuring a Power Wagon Vertical Bar Grille with a built-in electronic winch. The Power Wagon gets many of the same interior / technology features as the Laramie including the option between the 8.4” and 12” Uconnect touchscreens. Choose the Ram 2500 Power Wagon if you are looking for the ultimate performance truck both on and off-road.
