2021 Jeep Wrangler Trim Levels

Are you in the market for a new Jeep Wrangler but overwhelmed by the number of options to choose from? Then you’ve come to the right place. The 2021 Jeep Wrangler is now available at a dealership near you. However, before making your trip to the car lot, you should understand a bit about the different options you’ll have to choose from. One of those decisions is choosing the trim level on your Jeep Wrangler. In this article, we will explore the various trim levels to help you decide which Wrangler is the best fit for you.
Wrangler vs Wrangler Unlimited
One of the first decisions you’ll want to make when purchasing a Jeep Wrangler is whether to go with the Jeep Wrangler or Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. What’s the difference you ask? The answer is both very simple but also complicated. The jest of it is the Wrangler is a 2-door vehicle, and the Wrangler Unlimited has 4-doors. There are also some size differences with the Unlimited being slightly wider. In general, the Wrangler Unlimited is more popular among most consumers meaning most dealerships will lean heavier on Wrangler Unlimited inventory. However, if you are looking to save a bit on your budget, the 2-door Wrangler does come in at a slightly lower MSRP.

The next decision you’ll need to make is which trim level to choose. One of the main considerations you’ll have is which best fits your budget. The 2-door Wrangler Sport, for example, starts at a very affordable $28,315 while a fully-loaded Unlimited Rubicon can easily run you over $50,000 with all of its available accessory options. Let’s take a deeper look at the Wrangler’s three main trim levels.
2021 Jeep Wrangler Sport
Starting MSRP $28,315
The base level trim for the 2021 Wrangler is the Sport trim level. The Wrangler Sport comes with all of the functionality you’d expect in the off-road SUV. It comes with a 3.6L V6, Command-Trac Part Time 4WD system, and a conventional front and rear axle. You’ll also get the Uconnect 3 with 5” display, backup camera, and the choice of a hard or soft top. One shortfall of many lower end Wranglers is that you’ll likely require some up-fitting to take your vehicle on the trails. Otherwise, the road wheels and lack of suspension lift may leave you stuck in the mud!
2021 Jeep Wrangler Sahara
Starting MSRP $38,910
The next level up from the Sport is the Jeep Wrangler Sahara. Unlike the Sport (and Rubicon), the Sahara only comes available in the 4-door Unlimited configuration. Some additional upgrades available on the Sahara include Uconnect 4C NAV with 8.4” touchscreen display, leather-trimmed seats and more available engine options (including diesel!). You’ll also be able to upgrade some key capabilities like the 2.72:1 Selec-Trac Full Time 4WD System. Compared to the Sport, the Sahara offers better standard options and a much larger list of available upgrades for you to customize your vehicle exactly how you want it.
2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon
Starting MSRP $38,960
The highest standard trim level available on the Wrangler is the Rubicon trim. The Rubicon will come in both the 2-door and 4-door option. While many standard features are quite similar to that of the Sahara: 7” Uconnect 4, 3.6L V6 engine, etc; the Rubicon comes much better prepared for the off-road adventures. Features like 4:1 Rock-Trac HD Part Time 4WD System, Off-Road Tires, and Tru-Lok Front and Rear Axles make this ready for the trails as soon as you drive off the lot! The Rubicon also comes with a much wider selection of available options that both lower trim levels. The best way to find the perfect fit is to check with your Jeep dealership.

2021 Limited Edition Wranglers
Outside of the Sport, Sahara, and Rubicon trims; the Wrangler also comes available in a wide selection of limited edition trim levels. Each of these offer something unique that you should look into before committing to one of the standard trims. Below is a list of limited edition Wranglers as well as starting MSRP:
